Pelvic pain

Pelvic & chronic pelvic pain

Pain in the lower abdomen or pelvis: short-term, recurrent, or lasting longer than six months. Always worth investigating.

Understanding

Pelvic & chronic pelvic pain.

Pelvic pain has many possible causes: endometriosis, ovarian cysts, pelvic inflammatory disease, adhesions, irritable bowel syndrome, bladder conditions or musculoskeletal issues. Often it is a combination.

A specialist review combines a thorough history, examination and targeted imaging. Treatment is built around the most likely cause. Where laparoscopy is needed, Mr Orabi can both diagnose and treat at the same operation, for example excising endometriosis deposits.
