Imaging

Pelvic ultrasound

A detailed scan of the womb, ovaries and pelvic structures, performed and interpreted in clinic by Mr Orabi. Available abdominally, transvaginally, or both.

  • In clinic
  • 20–30 minutes
  • None

Overview

About this procedure.

Pelvic ultrasound is one of the most useful tools in gynaecology. Because Mr Orabi performs and interprets the scan himself, you get an immediate explanation, with no waiting for a separate radiology report.

Both abdominal and transvaginal scanning are offered. The transvaginal scan gives a much clearer view of the womb and ovaries, but it is always your choice, and a chaperone is offered as standard.
